Come along on 8th May to hear directly about the growing campaign in Ireland for reunification.
Politics in Ireland is moving steadily towards the eventual reunification of Ireland. This is by no means inevitable but changing demographics, evolving politics and the continued denial of basic rights in the north of Ireland ahas made Irish reunification the logical and reasonable outcome for an increasing number of people. Undoubtedly Brexit and particularly the chance of a No Deal Brexit has acted as an accelerant to that process and the discussion on Irish unity is now front and centre in the Brexit debate in Ireland.
The border dividing Ireland is a problem that now impacts on the whole of Europe, and Irish unity provides the obvious solution to this. 1.8 million citizens in the north of Ireland are entitled to EU citizenship – Irish unity affords these citizens the ability to access and exercise their rights where they reside, consistent with the commitment of no dimunation of rights.
